Five Questions for Nicolas Maranda

Q– What’s music and what is it to you?

A- Well, music is simply one of the most powerful forces known to man, because it’s what we are. Deep down, if you look at matter, if you look at energy, you find vibration. So when we crank it up, we become ourselves.

Q- Does it have a message?

A- That kind of is the message, remembering who we are. Rembering that we are lost in a sea of information and data, most of it misleading, but if we connect to the source, we transcend all that and become so much more.

Q- What is Montreal to you?

A- Home. I’ve had moments where I just wanted to get out, and I did, but every time I come back, I’m struck by what an easy-going, gentle, open, creative, comfortable place it is. Well, maybe not so comfortable in January and February.

Q- What are you?

A- Haha. There is no simple answer to that now is there? Let’s go for the verb being.
